| Aluminium | Lower-cost alternative that avoids a nickel contribution when nickel is an analyte. |
| Platinum | Best for aggressive acids and organic solvents. Longest life and lowest background. |
| Platinum, boron-free | Platinum cones made without boron for low-level boron determinations. |
