Spray Chamber Hero

Helix CT™ ICP Spray Chamber

The Original ConstantTorque™ Nebulizer Interface, Trusted Industry-Wide Since 2018

Glass Expansion paved the way for advanced ICP spray chamber design, pioneering the cyclonic spray chamber in the early 1990s with the release of the Tracey™ and Twister™ spray chambers, which quickly became industry standards. Building on three decades of innovation, Glass Expansion introduced the original ConstantTorque interface of the Helix CT™ in 2018.

Helix CT Interface

Say Goodbye to O-Ring Headaches

  • Poor lifetime and resistance to strong acids and organic solvents
  • Bonding to the nebulizer, causing breakage
  • Contamination risk from dead-volume
  • Difficult, tool-required replacement

What sets the Helix CT apart is its precisely controlled torque mechanism, paired with a positive stop that locks the nebulizer at the exact right depth for day-to-day reproducibility that no other fitting can match.

Why Torque Control Matters

  • Protects the nebulizer from over-tightening damage
  • Delivers optimal performance and reliable reproducibility
  • Prevents broken glass, safer for you and your lab

As the original torque-controlled sealing system, Helix CT continues to set the standard that laboratories rely on.

Product Benefits

Helix CT™ Features

ConstantTorque Gentle Sealing

The Helix CT delivers secure, reliable nebulizer performance through its ConstantTorque locking mechanism, ensuring consistent positioning and sealing during operation. Engineered for efficiency, it enables fast, straightforward maintenance to reduce downtime and keep your process running smoothly.

Zero Dead Volume Interface

Only the Helix CT interface completely eliminates dead volume around the nebulizer, cutting washout time on highly concentrated samples, minimizing carry-over, and boosting your sample throughput. For example, Mercury (Hg) is a challenging element for both ICP-OES and ICPMS due to its sticky nature. When comparing the washout profile of a 1ppm Hg solution, the Tracey BC with Helix CT reaches blank level 56% faster than a non-GE design double pass cyclonic (DPC). Minimizing carry-over this way also means fewer out-of-range check samples, so you’re not stuck re-running an entire batch because of one flagged QC failure.

Zero Dead Volume

Optimum Depth and Torque, Every Time

The original positive stop still locks your nebulizer at the correct, optimal depth. Pair that with ConstantTorque control on the seal, and you get unparalleled, reproducible analytical performance: run after run, day after day. As illustrated in the figure to the right, applying too much torque to a nebulizer results in a loss of sensitivity.
